I cannot believe hopw petty some people are...Talygarn Equestrian Centre provides a safe, fun place for children and teenagers and even young adults, to learn new skills, to better themselves mentally and physically. I suppose if all these people were to "hang around" the steets, vandalising and causing a nuisance then that would be ok? No i bet not. This neighbour of yours really needs to get a grip! The fun day was exactly what it says A FUN DAY, even for people who have never even ridden, they were welcome, if he had got up off his backside to have a look he may even have enjoyed it...and the music!!!!
Dont let RCT or jealous neighbours stop what your doing guys!
If you need a petition or a protest...let them have one!!!

My little boy who is now 7 has been riding at Talygarn now for just over three years and must say how thankfull i am of being part of Talygarn. Both my little man and myself cant thank Chris, Steve and all the helpers enough for providing the activites they do for the clients of the riding school. my little boy is not only learning to ride, but is also develpoing is social skills everytime he attends the riding school. The open day is a fantastic day that involves children as young as 4 right up to adulthood all in one day, the open day allows the children/young people/students sow off their reading skills. i will Support Chris and Steve as much as possible to keep this event going.

I am so glad that Kloe has found a hobby that she loves I am thrilled how happy and excited she is when she comes home the open day gave her ambition to perform one day she was enthralled with the day
You give the children a future they are all so engrossed with the opportunities you give them
Anything we can do to help please let us know
I will be happy to write to Rct if you can let me know who to direct it to I would be expecting a reply from them to explain what they provide for children in our community

I find this an absolute disgrace talygarn does so much for children and even adults for that matter and they open day is a one off every year to raise funds to take the children to competitions throughout the year which costs the riding school both time and money out of Chris and steves own pocket and because some nobody moans it's just a joke as soon as my son miller is old enough for lessons he will be their every week you mark my words because not only are the children their to learn they have fun at the same time and Chris and Steve are very supportive etc you won't get a better riding school than talygarn in Wales

My 8 year old daughter has been involved with Talygarn over the past 3 years and we have nothing but praise and admiration for all that goes on there. Chris, Steve and team provide fantastic opportunities not just for riding but a whole host of other activities that engage and motivate children and young people to develop a wide range of skills and achieve numerous awards and qualifications. The Open Day provides an opportunity for the youngsters to showcase their achievements and talents and inspires others to be the best that they can be.
At a time when our young people are being constantly criticised for their sedentary lifestyles, surely RCTCBC should be working with establishments like Talygarn to promote participation, not putting obstacles in their way!!

As a parent of a daughter who has ridden at Talygarn for eight years I would like to express my support for everything Chris and Steve (and family) do for the children who ride there. Rhondda Cynon Taff need to consider the opinions of ALL the people who live in the borough, and not just the ones who have nothing better to do than complain, and unfortunately seem to have a lot of influence with their complaints. I intend to write to RCTCBC to express my gratitude to the effort Chris and Steve put in for the children of the area, and to express my concern that these activities may not be continued for other children. (Come on, other parents, maybe we should all write!!!)

As a horse owner living in RCT I feel your pain. They give us NO support whatsoever. We have ONE bridleway in a very large area and it is run down and unusable and they REFUSE to sort it out because of budget (equestrians are always right at the bottom of the list in RCT). We have to ride on lethal roads and having nearly been hit yet again yesterday by an indiot driving at speed around the country lanes because they can and RCTs attitude of not giving a stuff, I'm totally naffed off with living in 'wonderful' RCT. These lanes are used as a rat run at speed but do RCT care, do they hell but as long as the drivers of RCT can do what they like the equestrians who pay to live in their borough as well don't come into the equation. I literally take my life into my hands every single day in RCT, which is ridiculous. As for your neighbour, what a flaming busy body. I hope one day they have kids or grandkids who would like to learn to ride but who can't because all the safe places for them to learn have been closed down due to the attitude of people like them.

He has actually been their longer than us but our Open Day has been running for 15 years and he has never complained until 2 years ago when he lost an argument with us over another matter he complained about, so you could say sour grapes. He doesn't bother me though, You will always get small minded neighbours in any community with nothing better to do with their lives. Its RCT'S attitude and lack of support that never ceases to amaze me
