Horse Clippers

For many years I have had very good Lister Clippers but with many horses to clip over the last couple of years it has not been working too well and now cuts out every 10 minutes, even though it has been serviced yearly. Anyway this year I decided to buy a new set of clippers Taking the advice of my local tack shop I purchased a Heiniger Clipper. I have to say I would not recomend it. It clips well enough has three speeds is reasonably quiet but it does not give a close clip and I have found that within a month the horses need clipping again even when using fine blades. I do not like the way the blades fit into the clippers either. My Lister had a central bolt which held everything together these Heiniger clippers have two screws which the blades slide under then you tighten them. My Instructor mentioned that someone she knew had problems with this as they fell apart when the bolts loosened and on one occassion the whole lot fell apart whilst we were clipping.
