Thursday, November 1st, 2007The worst thing about the team show jumping is everybody puts their entries in so late. I didn’t get them all in till saturday. Then we had the halloween party Saturday night my birthday Sunday and Hunting Monday. So spent all morning on computer Tues typing up the classes. I always do every class on a proper drawn order which means one team is gonna be first at 9am on the day and invariably they are not ready, with 30 teams to jump during the day it is important to get off to an early start. As it was by the time we had finished and finshed off the yards it was 7.30pm. There were 7 teams in the first class and lead rein is optional, it is lovely to see so many young riders having a go. The 2′ teams started with 7 teams and Talygarn members Emily and Carys jumped for the team against the clock in the 3rd round and the Talygarn Team (Sarah Hannah Emily and Carys) won the class, Emily’s dad Richard drove here from his family holiday in centre parks leaving at 5.30am for Emily to take part, with Talygarn team (Chloe Jess R Nancie and Carys) 4th. The 2′3 had 11 teams take part this came down to six in the second round, Talygarn had a slight problem here when they thought they hadn’t got through to the second round so put their ponies out in the fields only to have to catch them again rapidly. Talygarn finished 5th (chloe Natasha Jess and Jess R) and 6th (Hannah Carys Nancie and Sarah). By 5.30pm we started on the last team class the 2′6 and Talygarn Team Moose won the class (Leigh Amelia Sophie and Jodie) who were the only team who went through both rounds on a clear. Everyone from Talygarn did very well and also helped with the yards throughout the day.
